The Boston Bahá’í Community strives to put the teachings of the Bahá’í Faith into practice through active community building and hosting spiritual activities for all ages.
We believe lasting social change starts at the neighborhood level when we build relationships based on love and mutual respect.
We start small by holding gatherings in community centers and homes with opportunities for all age groups to grow together.

Classes for children, open to all, teach spiritual attitudes and behavior based on Bahá'í principles. They nurture spiritually vibrant and healthy young people to grow up without prejudice and with a positive, powerful sense that they are important to God and have a role to play in serving humanity.
“Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom.” – Baha’u'llah
A devotional gathering is an small gathering of friends to offer to offer prayers, songs, and meditation in an intimate setting.
The gatherings provide all with an opportunity to clear our minds from the anxieties of our daily lives and to meditate on our higher purpose.
Anyone can hold a devotional meeting, and most importantly, anyone can attend one.
Groups for youth ages 12 to 14 provide an environment of mutual support as young people strive to effect positive change in their communities and their own lives.
The primary purpose of a junior youth group is to serve as an environment of mutual support, one in which the spiritual perception, patterns of thought and behavior, as well as the necessary language can be developed so as to enable these youth to become builders of unity and champions of justice in their own neighborhoods and communities.
Each group centers around the study of materials which have been developed, piloted and adopted in junior youth groups around the globe.
Study Circles are gatherings where groups of friends come together to study the Bahá'í teachings and apply them in service to their communities.
Bahá'ís in the Greater Boston area offer study circles which are open to all and enable people of varied backgrounds to advance on equal footing and explore the application of the Bahá’í teachings to their individual and collective lives.
This process is meant to build capacity for service by concentrating on the application of the spiritual insights gained through profound study of the Bahá’í Writings.
At any given moment, and in social spaces at all levels of society, there are a range of ongoing discourses concerned with various aspects of humanity’s wellbeing and progress: discourses on such subjects as the equality of women and men, peace, governance, public health, and development, to name but a few.
The Bahá'í community in Boston continually engages in discourse whether through informally visiting with friends and neighbors, or in formal public discussions at a community centers, colleges, or other spaces.
Social action initiatives seek to promote the social and material well-being of people of all walks of life, whatever their beliefs or background. Such efforts are motivated by the desire to serve humanity and contribute to constructive social change. Together they represent a growing process of learning concerned with the application of the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh, along with knowledge accumulated in different fields of human endeavour, to social reality.
Several social action initiatives in Boston strive to address the material and spiritual needs of the city. Initiatives range from services projects by junior youth groups to initiatives addressing the needs of the whole city.
